As the heat wave is well and truly underway, we wanted to share some of the best natural lidos in and around London to cool off this summer.
BECKENHAM PLACE PARK LAKE
The lake at Beckenham Place Park, Bromley, is London’s newest wild swimming lake. The lake offers swimming, and boat hire, with lifeguards to oversee.
HAMPSTEAD HEATH SWIMMING
There are three ponds to enjoy at Hampstead Heath – women’s ponds, men’s ponds and the mixed ponds. It’s the only open water swimming facility in the UK that is open to the public all year round.
PARLIAMENT HILL LIDO, HAMPSTEAD HEATH
If you’re not quite ready for open water swimming, Parliament Hill Lido is an uncovered and unheated swimming pool open every day of the year.One of London’s two outdoor heated pools, Charlton Lido is Olympic sized! There is also a warmer, smaller, shallow pool with ledges for little ones to sit on.
